What's New in Living Force?

By Jae Walker

For those of you new to the campaign, the Living Force is run by a dedicated group of Star Wars fans and RPGA volunteers. None of the Council may play in the campaign -- period. We are following the excellent examples of some of our other Living campaigns -- there can be no temptation to make decisions that might benefit your character when you don't have a character!

The Council consists of:
Campaign Director - Jae Walker
Plots Coordinator - Morrie Mullins
Metagaming Coordinator - Colleen Lahna
Global Coordinator - Sean Connor

In addition, playtesters may not participate in the regular campaign, for pretty much the same reasons. Their "perks" are that they play the adventures six months ahead of the curve, they may get to play things that we end up not using, they may play their characters as Gamemaster characters at interactives, and their characters may appear in scenarios as Gamemaster characters. Given these restrictions, if you are interested in forming a playtest group, please contact us to let us know you are interested. Playtesters also receive service points.
Scenario Release Schedule and Availability

New Living Force scenarios will be released once a month (the exception being Winter Fantasy, which had an entire trilogy). Any convention (two or more days, anticipating running 25 or more tables of RPGA events at the convention) can order the premiere scenario for the month, and any of the older scenarios that they would like.

Gamedays (and homeplay) are on a three-month delay, so you can order for those events three months after the scenario premieres. We strongly advise running trilogies in order wherever possible. While we have designed them each to stand on its own, playing them out of order is a little like watching the original trilogy out of order -- it just makes a lot more sense if you watch A New Hope before Return of the Jedi.

You can request Living Force scenarios through the RPGA's scenario ordering process.

During the premiere month, all runs are considered to be "first runs" for the purposes of special conditions and critical event summaries. You will be able to submit your critical event summaries via the web (coming soon).
Volunteers and Authors

No campaign can run without volunteers, and we are especially grateful to the volunteers who are making Living Force happen. If you would like to volunteer for any aspect of the campaign, please send email to LFVol@rpga.net to let us know what you'd like to do. If you are interested in writing scenarios for the Living Force campaign, please contact the Plots Coordinator, Morrie Mullins, at LFPlots@rpga.net, and be prepared to provide samples of your writing.
Errata

Inevitably, some errata emerged since the Winter Fantasy convention...

Jedi Padawans who have mentors do *not* receive increased experience for scenarios, contrary to the character generation sheet passed out at Winter Fantasy. That was from an earlier iteration of the rules, and we removed it before the final went to press.

You may roll for income from your profession at the beginning of each scenario, as per core rules. If you have certed employment, you may elect to either take the payment prescribed on the cert, or you may roll your craft or profession skill. You must make that decision prior to rolling, so you cannot roll and then see whether you'd rather be working your certed job, or tending bar that week.
